This class is a continuation of the intermediate-level quilt class.  These quilt blocks are a little more difficult, but add wonderful new techniques to your quilting abilities.  Please bring to class your machine, accessories and all your supplies from the Intermediate Quilt supply list.

Learn how to use your new Singer sewing machine! This class reviews basic machine operation. You will learn how to wind a bobbin, thread the machine and pick a stitch to sew. Calling all Sewists who would like to come to the aid of Motts Children’s Hospital’s Loss Coordinator.

We’re asking people to join us on the First Tuesday afternoon of each month to make Preemie Quilts for Motts.  We have room for 10 sewists. We will be using JoAnn’s classroom (roomier). So dig into your stash for fabrics that will bring at least a wispy smile to the parents of these children.

If you work or are a very independent sewist, you can drop your quilt off to us; and we will get yours to Motts.
Are you new to quilting and want to make a small project. This is your project! We have several small quilt designs to select from. Also, this month, Yessant, will review the fundamentals of a basic quilt binding.

Our focus for April is the majestic hoop, or design aligning, depending on your machine.  We’re creating a Welcome phrase in the software and then embroidering it on quilted cotton.  I added welting and glued it to a wooden plaque.  It would also look stunning as a wall hanging.  Let’s make a large design!

Make napkins with beautiful edgework on your embroidery machine.  Use Emb 245 Decorative Edgework.  We will teach the process and technique in the class for finishing one napkin.  Gorgeous results!

Sit ‘n’ Sew is just that, bring you machine, bring your project, bring lunch if you want and hang out with others with your same interests.  Spend the afternoon finishing up that unfinished projects.  Share tips, hints, techniques and learn from each other.  There is not really a “class” as much as it is a fun way to spend the day. Space is limited so please let us know if you will be attending.  As always, let us know if you can’t make it so we can let someone else come in your place.

OMNIMOTION STITCHES…If you own the Designer I, SE, Ruby, Diamond, or Sapphire 960Q, and you have ever wondered when to use those large beautiful and delightful omnimotion stitches, then this is the class for you. You will need to bring the sewing portion of your machine, embroidery arm not needed; your S omni motion foot; and the extension table for your machine (if you own it), a marking pen, and a fat quarter of fabric, stitch in ditch stabilizer, 1 spool of embroidery thread to contrast with your fabric, bobbin thread.  Class size is limited, so reservations are necessary.
