You’ll learn basting, sew a blind hem, how to use the overcast stitch and make a buttonhole. An introduction to SEWING features only. This is a prerequisite to the Embroidery Class – Owner’s Class 3.

You’ll bring your sewing machine, accessories pedal and power cord. We provide fabric and thread.

Serger Basics, July 20 at 2pm

For new owner’s of Viking Huskylock or Singer Sergers.  Learn to thread and use your serger ‘s 2, 3, and 4 thread features, including Rolled hem.  For owners of Husqvarna Viking Huskylock or recent Singer Serger models ONLY!  Bring your serger and it’s  accessories, don’t forget your power cord and controller.

This is a hands on class, NOT a demonstration. If your machine comes with a DVD, you may find it helpful to view it before you come to class, and a review of the manual is recommended as well!

Practice and expand on the skills you learned in Owner’s Class I. We’ll make a small zipper pouch, and learn the applique technique and how to use the decorative stitches on your machine! Beginning Quilting Saturday, January 24 at 10am – Part 2 of 2

 This is PART TWO of a two part course. You must have completed part one, in order to participate!

Learn the basics of quilting by completing a placemat sized quilt. This is a two part class. In part one, you’ll learn rotary cutting and piecing techniques. In class two (two weeks later) you’ll quilt and bind your small project! You’ll go home with instructions to make more placemats. We’ll use a modern quilting pattern provided with permission of Alissa Haight Carlton! A supply list is below, but will also be sent via email with your registration confirmation. Required: Beginning Quilting Class 1.  Your Viking or Singer machine, in good sewing condition. It is recommended that you be familiar with your machine operation before you tackle this class.  Call 512-340-0640 for more information. Please call for day of class availability.

Samples of this class are available at the shop!

Supplies: refer to your handouts from class one for size, and bring your quilt batting, and backing for the placemat. Don’t forget your homework: Three, 3″ strips cut from the width of your coordinating fabric (you’ll need 1/4 yard for this). Bring your walking foot (if you have one), and a quilting thread… be sure it is marked for “machine quilting” and is not “glace or glazed” (that is for hand quilting!). Creative Serging–Serger Foot Bag

Learn how to use 6 different presser feet for your serger when you make this unique bag.  Optional:  You can also (if you wish and if there is time) learn how to install a top zipper gusset so you can keep your bag closed.  The extra feet used are:

This class is an introduction to your new Husqvarna Viking® sewing machine. Learn the basic features of your machine including how to clean, create buttonholes and do a blind hem. Please bring your machine, all accessories, power cord, foot control, machine user’s guide, and a brightly colored sewing thread.

INTRODUCTION TO EMBROIDERY BASICS

This class is the beginning of the wonderful world of Husqvarna Viking® embroidery! It gives basic instructions on how to achieve beautiful embroidery using your new Husqvarna Viking® embroidery machine. Please bring your machine, its accessories, manual, embroidery unit, 120 x 120 hoop, USB stick with designs, “Sampler” design book, and embroidery thread.

There are a total of 12 classes.

At the end of the classes you will have created a beautiful quilted wall hanging and used several different feet and attachments.

In this class you will be using several of the wonderful, feet that came with your machine, along with some feet that are available to purchase for your machine. You will explore many new stitches and their use in this class

In this class you will learn the basics of your new Husqvarna Viking Embroidery machine.

Bring only your machine and all the feet etc… that it came with. Do NOT bring embroidery unit till class 3

In this class you will learn the cover stitch and chain with a serge for everyday sewing

S-21 and S-25 only

This class is for the S21 and S25 ONLY.  We will learn some of the stitches your machine is capable of ,their applications and how to thread for the different stitches
